How to Get UNSTUCK

I hate feeling stuck. I like knowing WHAT to do. How about you?

I like when I can see the goal or the place where I want to be. I never know every step that will get me there, although I pray and ask God to help me to take that first step in the right direction.

BUT LIFE… can cut in on us and block the view of our path. Issues in life can rise up so tall that we cannot see our way through. I have even had heartache that was so intense that I “forgot” how to go forward. Sometimes the weight of what we carry can make us feel stuck.

BUT we are NEVER truly STUCK when we have Almighty God on our side.

Let me ask you this question:

How many relationships, jobs, and lives would be impacted if we all just did the next right thing?

I have learned to choose to respond faithfully even when I don’t feel like it.

It can be so easy to persuade ourselves into ignoring an issue, going back to bed, holding back from doing a good thing, continuing to stay stuck and not proceeding forward. It is then that we must choose to do what is good.

Doing the next right thing can become a safety net for our lives, and it will be greatly rewarded.

God is faithful to meet us right where we are as we do the next right thing, EVEN IF EVERYTHING WITHIN US PROTESTS LOUDLY.

2 Thessalonians 3:13 (NIV) (I added bolding)

And as for you, brothers and sisters, never tire of doing what is good.

Just by doing the next good thing in our lives (God’s good things), we can keep our peace.

What is the next right thing that you know that God has called you to do?

Many times, it is right in front of us.

  • Perhaps it is finishing what we started.

  • It may be apologizing,

  • forgiving,

  • letting something go,

  • believing a specific scripture,

  • praying,

  • talking to someone or finding a faithful counselor,

  • writing it out in order to get it out.

  • It could be working or doing that chore that we’ve put off,

  • finding a good church, joining a small group,

  • trusting God, or letting others in.

  • Perhaps it is continuing in the ongoing process of healing.

Often we are staying stuck because we won’t do the next right thing.

Wherever you are, if you are feeling stuck in an area, cry out to God and allow Him to meet you and help you to take your next faithful step.

We can choose to remain in good things even if it is harder than we thought, or it takes longer than expected. How many times have you stayed the course instead of quitting and you were thankful?

We must stay the course as we are trusting in God. We can continue to look to Jesus for the wisdom, life, and strength that we need to take our next right step and remain in Him.

What is the next right thing that God is calling you to do?

Let me know, I will be praying for you.

One step at a time,

Dawn
